About

Ted Davies is an accomplished saxophonist, audio engineer, and arranger based out of Denver, Colorado.
Ted's work encompasses many genres from straight-ahead jazz and bluegrass to funk rock to metal and beyond - a result of being raised in Colorado's diverse and burgeoning music scene. You can find them playing and singing with their band Dr Lunch, mixing at one of many venues along the front range, or working in the studio with local and national talent.

As of recent, Ted has been busy on all sides of the music scene. They regularly mix at Denver venues such as Globe Hall and the Black Buzzard, working with the wide variety of bands on the Colorado scene as well as touring groups. Ted plays saxophone, keyboards, and sings in their band Dr Lunch, a funk/rock/fusion project with fellow UNC Alum Jared Crider, Ian Spillman, and Ben Parrish. Ted also does a host of pre and post production work, from transcribing big band arrangements and organizing copywork for the Quincy Jones Celebration Orchestra to recording, mixing, and mastering music in their home studio in Denver, Colorado.
Ted attended the University of Northern Colorado from 2019 to 2023, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies. In their time at UNC, Ted performed with legends including Wayne Bergeron, Rachael Price, Melissa Aldana, and others. In 2023, Ted worked with Carmen Bradford on two arrangements for her album "Carmen Sings Carmen", featuring the Compass Jazz Orchestra. In 2023, Ted won the DownBeat Magazine Award for Large Ensemble Composition, for the piece "The Shadows' Dance" off their debut album Trail Rider, released in 2022.
